The festival, in its sixth year, offers residents and visitors, both foreign and local, an opportunity to enjoy themselves. It runs from next Tuesday through Sunday.

A literary-themed fashion show at a newly opened library at the COEX mall from Tuesday through Thursday will feature the work of six designers.

A free K-pop concert on Friday will feature many singers popular among both younger and older generations. One of the headliners, Lee Seung-chul, will sing his hits, including duets with Gummy. Rising idol bands Wanna One and Cosmic Girls will perform on a street stage around the Samseong subway station.

The 15th International Peace Marathon will be held on Saturday. About 10,000 amateur runners will take part in the full, half-marathon, 10-km and 5-km races, with all entry fees going to UNICEF.

Foods prepared by some of the country's top chefs will be available for only W3,000 a dish at the marathon (US$1=W1,135).

And to promote Korean products and boost domestic consumption, a grand sales event over the next weekend will involve some 400 department stores, restaurants and other businesses in the district.
