Girls' Generation and Kara to Appear in NHK Red & White Year End Song Festival

Star singing groups Girls' Generation, Kara, and Dong Bang Shin Ki will appear in the representative year-end song festival in Japan entitled "NHK Red & White Year End Song Festival". The final list of 55 cast members for this year's festival was unveiled at the press conference held at the head office of NHK in Tokyo on November 30 at 4:30 pm, and the list included the names of Girls' Generation, Kara, and Dong Bang Shin Ki. Girls' Generation and Kara will appear in the festival for the first time, and it will be the third time for Dong Bang Shin Ki.

The head of the NHK Production Department of entertainment programs named Taro Furuya explained, "We have chosen the cast members based on several criteria: this year's activities, public opinion, program's production plan, and discussion result among staff members".

Seven cast members on the list had their first chance to appear in the program, and Girls' Generation, Kara, and Japanese actors Suzuki Fuku, who will be recorded as the youngest cast members, and Mana Ashida came up on the stage to deliver their feelings.

The group leader of Kara, Park Gyu-ri, said, "I have always wanted to appear in this festival from the time when we debuted in Japan, and we were very much surprised to receive the news that we were chosen as a cast member for this year's Red & White Year End Song Festival". Choi Soo-young of Girls' Generation said, "I am very glad that we have a chance to appear in this festival that boasts a long history and reputation. We will present splendid performance like the other senior singers, BoA and Dong Bang Shin Ki, who had appeared in the festival before". Seo Hyun of Girls' Generation also said, "I still cannot believe it, but I feel very much relieved that we will appear along with Dong Bang Shin Ki". The child actor Mana Ashida, who is reportedly a huge fan of Kara, said, "I hope that I can have a chance to dance with Kara together". Park Gyu-ri responded, "I look forward to holding a performance together with you".

This year's Red & White Year End Song Festival with the title of "Let's Sing Future" will be broadcast live through TV and radio on December 31 from 7:15 pm to 11:45 pm.
