According to SM Entertainment, the group will release the title song "The Boys" through major music sites in Asia and iTunes in the American and European continents on Oct. 4, followed by all the remaining tracks of the album the next day, at the same sites.

The album consists of two versions both in Korean and English to appeal to an international audience as the group has grown into one of the most influential K-pop bands beyond Asia.

The title song was composed and arranged by Teddy Riley, a producer and musician renowned for the late Michael Jackson's "Dangerous" and the albums of other high-profile singers such as Lady Gaga, Spice Girls, Pussycat Dolls and Christina Aguilera.

"The music and performance to be presented by Girls' Generation have matured through SM's global network and production system. The advanced capacity of the group will captivate the global audience with the best stage performance ever", the agency said.

Currently focusing on overseas activities, its mini album "Hoot" last October swept the nation's major music awards.
The band's album sold some 680,000 copies in Japan where were on a concert tour last year.

In Taiwan, concerts attracted more than 31,000 fans, the largest number as a foreign artist there. The nine-member, all-female band took part in the SM Town Live World Tour in Paris in June.
