Girls' Generation to release new mini-album "Hoot"

Korean girl group Girls' Generation will be returning to the local music scene with their upcoming mini-album "Hoot" at the end of the October.

Their agency SM Entertainment made the announcement through a press release Tuesday while revealing teaser photographs of members Tiffany Young, Jessica and Seohyun as well as a short snippet of "Hoot", also the name of the title track, on the girls' official webpage (http://girlsgeneration.smtown.com).

The official site will continue to be updated at later dates to reveal photos of the remaining members.

Girls' Generation composed of other members Taeyeon, Sunny, Choi Soo-young and Hyoyeon are known as one of the most popular female idols in Korea since their debut in 2007.

They recently held two sold-out concerts in Taiwan over the weekend while the girls have traveled to several other countries in Asia such as China, Shanghai and Thailand for their concert "The 1st ASIA TOUR CONCERT - Into the New World".

The nine-member girl group also made a success debut into the Japanese pop market, releasing their first Japanese single in August as well as attracting over 20,000 fans to their first showcase in the country.

They will be releasing their second Japanese single "Gee" tomorrow.
