The film focuses on the anxiety experienced by four couples in the lead-up to their weddings. Ko said she accepted the role without hesitation due to the joke-laden script.

The film deals with topics that many betrothed couples and newlyweds will either be able to relate to or sympathize with, such as conflicts between mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law, and premarital pregnancy.

"I didn't need to seek advice [about the character], because I'd heard so much about these subjects from friends or the media", she said.

She said she has quite liberal ideas about marriage. "Rather than having a firm idea about when I should get married, I think perhaps I should give birth to a baby before I reach 35".

Ko often draws as much attention for her fashion sense and narrow waistline as for her acting skills. Is she satisfied with this level of recognition? "I'm grateful that fans praise what I wear, but I'm eager to do better as an actress, especially after I watch other actors and what they are capable of", she said.

What targets has she set herself in the future?

"So far, I've mostly taken on city-girl roles. I'd like to play a wider variety of characters to avoid being typecast, rather than just picking easy roles that suit me", she said. "I don't mind if that means I have to look ugly or make a fool of myself, because I can still be serious and look pretty in other areas of my career, such as catalog ads".

"I think fans love actors who can totally immerse themselves in different characters".
