Going by the Book Extends Korean Film's B.O. Recovery

Ra Hee-chan's "Going by the Book" debuted at the number one spot at the box office, extending Korean film's reign over the box office to five weeks. Going by the Book relieved previous number one "Happiness" (Heo Jin-ho); and prior to "Happiness", _Kwak_Gyeong-taek's "A Love" held the top spot.

Over the weekend, 470,656 people attended screenings of "Going by the Book". The film played on 357 screens and accumulated 545,866 visitors in its first week. Kim Mi-jung's "Shadows in the Palace" was a close second, recording 545,129 viewers in its debut week (weekend number: 444,132). "Shadows in the Palace" had secured more screens than "Going by the Book", "Shadows in the Palace" unfolded on 393 screens.

"Happiness", the only other Korean inclusion in the top ten, dropped to place five. "Happiness" is director Heo Jin-ho's first film leading the box office.
