Gyeonggi Changes Name of Tourism Complex

Gyeonggi Province has decided to change the name of a prospective tourism cultural complex from Hallyu-Wood to Hallyu World. 'Hallyu', which translates into 'Korean wave', refers to the spread of South Korean culture around the world.

Gyeonggi Province said Tuesday that it decided to change the name following experts' suggestions and a survey on which of the two names was preferred by the public.

The tourism cultural complex will be built on a plot of land measuring one million square meters in Goyang. Construction is set to be completed by 2014. The complex will house theme parks and facilities displaying a variety of cultural content.
