"Hallyu" Movies Shown in Fukuoka

The Mainichi newspaper wrote on May 21 that the "Special Movie Festival - Korea/Japan" had kicked off in Fukuoka as part of the Year of Korea-Japan Friendship. The festival, which is being held at the Skushinoshi Culture and Arts Center in Fukuoka, featured several Korean movies including "Taegugki" and "My Sassy Girl".

A performance featuring talented Koreans and Japanese artists was held in the plaza in front of the hall. The festive atmosphere of the festival was warmed up by performances of Fukuoka's "skushino daiko" and Korea's "samulnori". The food section of the festival presented Japanese miso and vegetables as well as Korean kimchi made by women from the Skushino Office of the Korean embassy.

The Korean-language section inside the hall was crowded with Japanese visitors eager to recite famous lines from the popular television drama "Winter Sonata".
