Hallyu Star Choi Ji-woo to be Featured in World's Famous Magazine Vogue

The leading star of the Korean Wave (Hallyu) Choi ji woo will appear as a cover model in the Taiwan edition of the world-renowned fashion magazine "Vogue" this May. This is the first time a Korean has been so featured. Choi recently completed a photo session for the cover.
Choi Ji-woo was selected as the face for the Chinese edition of "Cosmopolitan" and the Hong-Kong edition of "Elle", both of which will be released in May and June respectively. It is the second time Choi will appear on the cover of "Cosmopolitan".

A "Vogue" official said Choi was selected as the cover model because the company recognizes her as the most renowned Hallyu star in Asia. "Vogue" expects to gain greater Asian market share by featuring Choi whose TV drama "Rondo" currently finished televising. Her film "Now and Forever" (Yeonriji) will be released in Japan next month.

The melodrama "Now and Forever" will be released on April 13. Choi will play Han Hye-won, a lovely woman who wants to happily live for the rest of her life in the face of death. Jo Han-sun will play Lee Min-soo, a young CEO of game company who was awoke to a truthful love of life for the first time by getting to know Han Hye-won. Choi, whose representative character has been mostly cheerful and adorable, once again challenges herself in a melodramatic role.

Born on June 11, 1975, in Gyeonggi Paju, Choi Ji-woo made her debut in the 1995 drama War and Love. Choi rose to some fame from the drama series First Love. Choi co-starred with actor Bae Yong-joon in the Korean Drama Series (Winter Sonata) in March 2002, which in turn helped her to gain fame from the high popularity of that drama, especially in Japan which still lasts till today, though in decline as time passes.

Lately, Choi has gained a wide Japanese audience watching her Romantic Comedy movie, Everybody has Secrets, in which she has co-starred with Lee Byung-hun.
