Hallyu star Ryu Si-won has once again gathered attention for appearing in an NHK drama series.

Ryu Si-won has been guest starring in 'Dondo Hare' which started airing on NHK on the 30th and appeared throughout six episodes until the 5th.

While he has appeared in drama series produced by private broadcasters such as TBS or Fuji TV, this is the first time a Korean actor has appeared in a government run broadcaster's drama series.

Ryu Si-won plays Joon Seo who is a top actor that returns to Morioka in search of his girlfriend from when he studied abroad in Japan. He completed the first round of filming last October in Morioka of Iwate-ken and filmed additional scenes early last month.

Miyamoto Nobuko who acted with Ryu Si-won wrote in her blog, "The female staff where all mesmerized by the soft aura of Ryu Si-won and the male staff were bewildered as to why the studio atmosphere seemed different".

Ryu Si-won, appearing in six episodes, had many lines and performed them all in Japanese and in an interview with Japanese press commented, "I have sung with Japanese lyrics for albums before but this is my first time acting in Japanese. It was hard as it required understanding of the lines and expressing it simultaneously, but I would like to appear in a Japanese drama again".

Personnel of Ryu Si-won also commented, "After the filming, there have been various other offers for appearances in other drama series produced by different broadcasters. He plans to be active not only as a singer but also as an actor in Japan this year".
