[HanCinema Korea's Diary] "Healing Hands" in Itaewon: A Valentine's Day Treat

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and to celebrate I wanted to share a wonderfully atmospheric and relaxing spot to celebrate it. Massages in Korea can range from the morally questionable to luxurious and self-indulgent. Through a recommendation, my better half and I decided to explore Itaewon's "Healing Hands" to see if we could treat ourselves to an afternoon of pampering and relaxation. From the moment we step into its modest holdings, the aromatic pleasures began to work a number on our senses as we prepared ourselves for, what was to be, a most memorable and repeatable experience.

Two days before I had called ahead to book couples massages. I visited their website and browsed the option for our pleasure. It was no until I arrived, however, that I was convinced to opt for a full body massage with an additional twenty minute hot stone treatment. Not being total familiar with this type or service, I was slightly hesitant but not at all nervous. Their professionalism and sense of service was most comforting and put to rest any reservations I might have initially harboured.

When we arrived we were greeted with smiles as well as a refreshing herbal tea, a nice touch we noticed they extended to all that entered regardless of whether or not there was an appointment or intent. We made our selection and were ushered into a beautiful room with two tables. After we were given instructions as to how to prepare ourselves, we marvelled at the room's tranquil and emotive senses of itself, it was to be the space where I lost myself. During the 90 minutes I could not say whether I was awake, sleeping, or dreaming.

We were revived after our time was done ad were again treated to some more herbal tea. Our muscles and minds were relaxed and flushed and it took a few minutes to become fully aware of the world around us. It was a small escape that we explored due to a recommendation, and it is from that I wish to pass the knowledge of this little gem on to anyone else looking for a professional massage parlour. "Healing Hands" is reasonable priced and maintains a welcoming sense of professionalism not all massage places in Korea can claim to have. If you are in the Seoul area and are looking for something to spoil you significant other with this Valentine's Day, why not visit "Healing Hands" and revitalise your mind and body.
