[Review] "The Throne"

South Korean film critic and journalist Pierce Conran reviews the latest period drama, "The Throne", and gives us his perspective on Lee Joon-ik's fifth historical piece: "Sure to be a hit during the holidays (though a curious pick by Korea to send to next year's Academy Awards for the foreign language category), "The Throne" is an impressive, highly calculated period piece. Korean family dynamics have rarely played out on such a large (and devastating) stage".

"Bae Doona Interview"

Hangul Celluloid, Filmdoo and Too Much Noise Blog recently interviewed one of South Korea's favourite actresses, Bae Doona, ahead of a special screening of "A Girl at My Door" at Picturehouse Central cinema. "I loved the script of "A Girl at My Door" and part of that was as a result of its statements on social issues which I feel stand out from the majority of Korean films, even many of those that detail sexual attitudes", Bae said.

"October 1st, Stars to be Shining over Busan"

"Films for Chuseok holidays"

Not all of us will be in South Korea for Chuseok, but that's no reason not to try and get into the spirit of Korea's harvest celebrations!
