Park is the owner of Unistella Salon, and in keeping with the current minimalist zeitgeist in contemporary Korean art, she believes a big trend in 2017 is "minimalism and neon"-negative space nails and glass nails, for example. "Artist finds meaning in meaningless"

While contemporary Korean art is on the rise, it's the country's contemporary minimalism that is at the vanguard to this surge in popularity and global interest. This year's 2017 Venice Biennale, for example, will feature Lee Wan who "meaningless works" created in the spirit of Korea's "Dansaekhwa" movement (monochrome paintings); "This is just the trace of the exchange of labor and money", says the artist.
