[HanCinema's Drama Review] "Man-hole" Episode 15

Insight is finally given into the inner workings of our villain, Jae-hyun, but also into Pil, who has too long just been a crazy many chasing a woman who is not quite sure she wants to be with him. It definitely feels as though the show is trying to wind up as people start mobilizing once they believe Pil is correct about Jae-hyun.

The strongest moment of the episode was when Pil and Soo-jin sat down for an honest chat and he told her how hard on him traveling through time is and how their relationship kept going in unexpected directions that were surprisingly painful. Such a bonding moment has not yet been seen on "Man-Hole" and I'm sad to only get one so late in the game.

The second strongest moment was when Jae-hyun sat down with Soo-jin and talked about his rage and his inability to control it. I'm not sure if his feeling for her are actual love or obsession, but it was good to get some humanity out of him when he's just been a jealous, violent person for so long. If they'd given this to us sooner, it wouldn't been easier to be torn about him, or, at the very least, truly hate him for his ill-advised behavior.

The manhole keeps changing the rules, this time only going back to a place in the future rather than to just before the wedding. I wonder where those little aliens went from the beginning. Do they choose who goes through the manhole and when? That would make the most sense in terms or the randomly changing functions of the manhole.

As for Pil's gang, they are still left by the wayside, there as Greek chorus rather than living, breathing characters on their own. I don't expect to see me for them in the last episode except maybe a resolution of the Dal-soo/Jung-ae/Goo-gil triangle. Seok-tae and Jin-sook are already together, so that leaves apprehending Jae-hyun and hooking up Pil and Soo-jin. So...let's get to it. On to the final episode.
