[HanCinema's News] Ahn Jae-hyun and Koo Hye-sun's Comments on Newlywed Program Given New Focus

Following news of Ahn Jae-hyun and Koo Hye-sun's apparent movement toward divorce, their words on the 2017 variety show 'Newlyweds Diary' have been given new focus. The reality focused variety show was filmed during their ninth month of marriage, when they were living through winter in Gangwon province.

Among other issues, the program dealt with their couple's quarrels and arguments. In one section Koo Hye-sun complains about how Ahn Jae-hyun is always leaving housework for her to do alone. In a modern context this issue brings to mind her comments about how Ahn Jae-hyun is never at home, which would provide further excuse for him not to do housework.

Ahn Jae-hyun responds to this issue by asking if married life is really as awful as she makes it sound. Koo Hye-sun responds with no, saying that there are good parts, and they apparently make up over a barbecue dinner. However, the core issue of Ahn Jae-hyun not doing housework is conspicuously left unresolved.

Koo Hye-sun has echoed the basic sentiment since then, saying that marriage has both good parts and bad parts. Though neither Koo Hye-sun nor Ahn Jae-hyun hasve been especially outspoken about their marriage over the last few years, incidents like this suggest that Ahn Jae-hyun's ennui, as Koo Hye-sun described it, has long been a fracture point in their relationship, even though Koo Hye-sun has described it as being a change compared to his older self.

Koo Hye-sun has since deleted her Instagram post that contained personal information regarding her divorce. Her agency, which is also Ahn Jae-hyun's agency that she recently joined, has confirmed that divorce negotiations are ongoing and are threatening legal actions against unfounded rumors related to them.
