[HanCinema's News] Choi Ji-woo to Appear in "Shooting Star"

YG Entertainment recently confirmed that actress Choi Ji-woo would appear in the upcoming television drama "Shooting Star" as a special appearance. Choi Ji-woo is a legendary nineties-era actress known in part for her major contribution to the Korean New Wave in films such as "First Kiss" and "Nowhere To Hide" of that era. In the aughts, Choi Ji-woo was also known for such popular romantic dramas as "Winter Sonata" and "Stairway to Heaven" among others.

Choi Ji-woo made a special appearance in "Crash Landing on You" from 2020 on the strength of this reputation, in the context of a North Korean character who's a big fan of her work. It is as yet unknown what form the "Shooting Star" special appearance will take, though it seems likely she may once again be playing herself. In leading roles, Choi Ji-woo is expected to appear in the Kakao horror drama "New Normal" which will be her first leading role in four years.
