It's been six years since Choi Minho started acting, his first leading role being in "Derailed" in 2016. According to Choi Minho, the filming for "The Fabulous" began about a year ago and lasted for five months- explaining, in part, how the weather in "The Fabulous" is about as cold as it is now. Choi Minho expressed hopes that a viewer watching the drama would be able to have a nice, warm New Year's season.

Choi Minho acknowledged since the release of "The Fabulous" that despite the show being listed as a television drama, the exposure and love scenes are closer to what might be expected from a feature film. In regard to whether other members of SHINee have expressed much of a reaction to this, Choi Minho said that this was never the kind of thing they did even when the group was more active. Choi Minho said that even if they had seen it, they likely wouldn't contact him about it.

Regarding the famed kiss scene, Choi Minho claimed that this scene was considered quite important in production, and that director Kim Jeong-hyeon-I spent a great deal of time putting the backdrop for it together just perfectly. The lighting in particular was quite dim. Choi Minho was surprised when after a break following one or two hours of filming they came to a brighter room and he could see that Chae Soo-bin was wearing lip gloss.

Choi Minho also discussed how despite his character's passion, in day-to-day work he actually has to hide that passion. This made the role more difficult than Choi Minho expected, and made him realize how work where a person must hide how they feel isn't easy. Choi Minho described the production in general as an emotional roller coaster, given the unusual relationship of the leads. Choi Minho hoped that to viewers this emphasized the value of doing things straight and to not worry.
