[HanCinema's News] Filming for "Harbin" on Hold So Hyun Bin Can Stay With Wife and Son

According to a statement recently released by VAST Entertainment, filming for "Harbin" is currently on hold. Actor Hyun Bin is the leading star of the historical spy action film, and had recently been doing location shooting in Mongolia. However, he has since hurriedly returned to South Korea as his wife, Son Ye-jin, gave birth to their son prior to the anticipated due date. The next round of location shooting is now scheduled for January 25th in Latvia, and Hyun Bin intends to remain with her until then.

Purportedly the schedule was not designed like this solely for Hyun Bin's benefit. Park Jung-min, Jeon Yeo-been, Yoo Jae-myung, and Park Hoon were also reported to have scheduling conflicts requiring that filming resume at such a late date. However, "Harbin" is Hyun Bin's only current project, and his principal motivation appears to be to just be sure that he is able to spend his first Lunar New Year holiday together with his wife and child and help her during the first two difficult months of childrearing.

Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin were married in March of this year following a courtship that begin after the end of filming for "Crash Landing on You" in 2020, though the relationship was only publicly confirmed a year later. Son Ye-jin confirmed her pregnancy via social media in June, and while her due date was later stated to be in December, she gave birth earlier than expected on November 27th. It is not yet known when or if Son Ye-jin will return to acting work.
