Jung Woo described the movie as very much being man's fare, with a sort of militaristic sentiment often associated with masculinity. He described the story as a fight for survival, with older men in more support roles forced into new situations based on an escalating situation. The law of the land as Jung Woo puts it is one of survival, and action intermingles heavily with emotion throughout.

Filming for "Hot Blooded" took place throughout southeastern Korea, in the communities of Busan, Mokpo, and Gunsan among others. Jung Woo describes the two month filming experience in Busan has a familiar one, given that he had spent over nineteen years of his life there previously. Jung Woo also mentioned how he also made an appearance in the variety program Heo Young-man's Food Travels during this time, the show being filmed in Busan.

Jung Woo also made a noteworthy statement about the movie's viewer rating. Though "Hot Blooded" is approved for viewers as young as 14, Jung Woo thought that the film was more suitable for an 18 age rating. However, because the violence is presented with weight and gravity in the noir style rather than the action style, his opinion differs from that of the relevant ratings board. "Hot Blooded" will be Jung Woo's first project since the Kakao TV romantic comedy "Mad for Each Other" from last year.
