[HanCinema's News] Jung Yoo-mi Cancels Contract With DHCKorea Over Comfort Woman Issue

On October 1st Jung Yoo-mi announced through her agency, Ace Factory, that she was canceling her current contract as an advertising model for DHCKorea and returning all outstanding money she had already been paid earlier in the contract period.

The decision stems from a segment that aired on DHC Television on August 10th, which expressed critical opinions regarding Statues of Peace and how they are used to influence international opinion on the comfort women issue.

DHC is a Japanese company and the segment was broadcasted in Japanese for a Japanese audience. Since that time DHC products in South Korea have faced antipathy exceeding other Japanese companies that have been affected by the boycott, and Jung Yoo-mi in particular has been a target as a celebrity who has chosen to associate with them.
