[HanCinema's News] Kim Da-mi Talks About "Our Beloved Summer"

Actress Kim Da-mi recently gave an interview about her experiences on "Our Beloved Summer" from earlier this year. Kim Da-mi has expressed positive thoughts about the six months during which she was filming the romantic drama, saying that the project was memorable and she was happy to give out so much happiness. Kim Da-mi also said that though the drama wasn't realistic, the sentiment was strong, and that it was easy to relate to everyone since there were no villains.

"Our Beloved Summer" deals with a broken up couple who first began to date in high school in part thanks to a viral documentary series they participated in. Kim Da-mi stated that since she could not show the totality of the ten years over which the story takes place, she worried about how to properly show the transition. Among such factors in her training for this were subtle changes in speaking style from the earlier parts of the story compared to the later ones.

Compared to previous roles as a sorceress in the film "The Witch : Part 1. The Subversion" and a restaurant manager in the television drama "Itaewon Class" Kim Da-mi said her role in "Our Beloved Summer" was quite different. She noted that the character was more realistically drawn and heavily built off her her pre-existing relationship with the character played by Choi Wooshik. Kim Da-mi also described her character as being around 60-70% synchronized with her own personality.
