[HanCinema's News] Kim Ki-duk Film "Human, Space, Time, and Human" to Open Yubari Fantastic Film Festival

The Yubari Fantastic Film Festival, which will run from March 7th to March 10th, will open with "Human, Space, Time and Human" by famed director Kim Ki-duk. This prominence is controversial, due to sexual misconduct allegations against the director.

The film concerns a wide cast of mostly repulsive characters who are inexplicitly trapped on a warship that is escaping the bounds of the known universe. The subject matter, which turns violent and sexual, should be of little surprise to those who have followed Kim Ki-duk's career.

However, sexual misconduct allegations have dogged Kim Ki-duk, preventing his latest film from getting a domestic release. Kim Ki-duk stopped doing film adjacent work pending an investigation, which ultimately declined to press charges. Though the Yubari Fantastic Film Festival is a minor film festival, this may be the start of an attempted comeback for the director.
