"Mother of Mine" has been a huge boon for the popularity of Kim So-yeon. She has long been a visible presence in South Korean dramas, marking her first leading role with "Prosecutor Princess" in 2010 and alternating between leading roles, secondary roles, and special appearances ever since. But her role in "Mother of Mine" as a working woman struck a particularly strong chord with viewers.
"Happy Home" in 2016 was another high point for the actress, as it was where she met Lee Sang-woo who, like her, played a second lead. The two were married in 2017, and both were born in 1980.
