[HanCinema's News] Kim Sung-kyu Confirmed for "One Ordinary Day"

The agency for actor Kim Sung-kyu recently confirmed that the actor will appear in the upcoming series "One Ordinary Day" which will air exclusively in South Korea on the Coupang Play platform. With this news, "One Ordinary Day" now has a full confirmed principal cast. Kim Sung-kyu will play Do Ji-tae in the crime drama, a convict serving an extended sentence for multiple violent crimes who becomes entangled with the lead character played by Kim Soo-hyun.

"One Ordinary Day" is based on the 2008 British drama Criminal Justice. However, it is not yet clear how closely "One Ordinary Day" will follow its original version, nor is it known which character Do Ji-tae is intended to be an analog of, if any. It's believed that Kim Sung-kyu will play the innocent man facing charges for a crime he didn't commit and that Cha Seung-won will play his cellmate, with the chemistry between the two actors allowing for a potentially legendary dual performance.
Kim Soo-hyun last appeared in "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" last year while Cha Seung-won last appeared in "A Korean Odyssey" in 2017. However, Cha Seung-won has done several film projects in the interim period. Kim Sung-kyu last appeared as the second lead in "A Piece of Your Mind" last year. The current release window for "One Ordinary Day" suggests the drama will be available on the Coupang Play platform sometime in November.
