[HanCinema's News] Lee Seung-min-III Talks About "The Forbidden Marriage"

Lee Seung-min-III is not the best known of actors. Though he had a major supporting role in "A Moment at Eighteen" back in 2019, he's often not been credited in the twenty-odd productions he's been in since then. These includes such works as "Mental Coach Jegal" and "Cheer Up" from last year. But more immediately, Lee Seung-min-III appeared in "The Forbidden Marriage" on MBC. In a recent interview, he discussed his experiences with the historical drama.

Lee Seung-min-III frankly admitted that he was relieved to have heard that he was able to successfully pass an audition after so long when he earned his role on the drama. Having missed the first and second cuts, he was nervous about entering the third cut, but stated that this only made his success feel that much better. A latecomer to the production, Lee Seung-min-III also claimed that "The Forbidden Marriage" had a very good vibe.

According to Lee Seung-min-III, the cast and crew had a very good idea of what they were doing. As an escort warrior, Lee Seung-min-III's role was principally to find other characters to take them somewhere else. This required that he appeared in many outdoor location scenes, and Lee Seung-min-III enjoyed looking at these environments. He thought that the beauty had a strong healing effect.

In regard to his greater career roles, Lee Seung-min-III claims that he did not get into acting for the sake of being an actor. Rather, he enjoyed acting from his first stage productions, and saw the appeal of the profession from that angle. He liked putting in effort to act real, or at least an approximation of being real. Lee Seung-min-III enjoyed having to concentrate in such a situation.

When asked for his strong points, Lee Seung-min-III said that he has failed a lot. By acknowledging his failure and insufficiency, Lee Seung-min-III believes he is able to improve that much more. When asked for an actor who he admires, Lee Seung-min-III mentioned Son Sukku, with "Be Melodramatic" in particular being a work that made him think he was something special. "The Forbidden Marriage" ended with ratings of 4.7% on January 21st.
