[HanCinema's News] Park Jinyoung and Roh Jeong-eui likely for "Witch"

A press report on April 28th has claimed that Park Jinyoung and Roh Jeong-eui will take leading roles in the upcoming drama "The Witch" that is based on the webtoon of the same title by Kang Full. Subsequent attempts to contact the agencies of these two actors confirmed that they had received offers, which are being reviewed positively. However, nothing has yet been concretely decided in terms of casting.

Park Jinyoung would play the role of Lee Dong-jin, a college graduate with a degree in statistics. He works in the field of data mining. He had long hoped to again meet a girl he knew in school who he could not approach, and tell her that she is not a witch. Roh Jeong-eui would play that girl, Park Mi-jeong, who had been called a witch by classmates due to her peculiar demeanor. A talented English student, she works in the present day as a translator who lives on a secluded roof.

This would be the first serial project for Park Jinyoung since "Yumi's Cells" last year, with the actor set to reprise his role in that drama for "Yumi's Cells - Season 2" this coming June. Roh Jeong-eui is also coming off of her turn as the second lead in the popular drama "Our Beloved Summer" from earlier this year. "The Witch" will be directed by Kim Tae-gyoon-I, who is best known for his work on the film "Dark Figure of Crime" from 2018.
