Yoon Ji-oh had already employed private security for this reason. However, after a successful petition campaign, Yoon Ji-oh was given an official Smart Watch. The Smart Watch is supposed to send a distress signal to the nearest police if pressed for more than 1.5 seconds. Yoon Ji-oh expressed criticism of her watch on an official government message board after she was unable to prove that it actually worked.
The police chief promised an investigation to determine the cause of the apparent malfunction. It has not been confirmed whether the residence Yoon Ji-oh was staying at was actually attacked.
