On July 25th South Korean police claimed that actress Song Hye-kyo has filed an official complaint regarding rumors concerning the recently divorced actress. The petition was filed by an employee for Song Hye-kyo's agency, UAA. In a statement UAA confirmed that they had sent a representative to file the complaint in response to various malicious comments made against Song Hye-kyo.
UAA also confirmed that they had retained the services of the law office of Kim And Chang as necessary in order to insure that their warnings would be taken seriously. UAA also stated that such negative comments were inflicting emotional distress upon Song Hye-kyo and were forceful in demanding that the baseless rumors be put to an end.
The action may have been provoked by a misleadingly translated interview from the Hong Kong periodical Tatler, which was inaccurately reported in South Korean media as being more petinent to Song Hye-kyo's recent divorce from Song Joong-ki than it actually was. Song Hye-kyo and Song Joong-ki, who met on the set of "Descendants of the Sun", recently formalized their divorce and are currently planning their lives post-marriage.
