[HanCinema's News] Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo's Divorce Expected to Be Finalized in Three to Six Months

Though Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo have announced their intent to divorce and filed proper paperwork, it is somewhat awkwardly still not correct to call them ex-spouses. Legal technicalities prevent them from being able to make a fast, clear break. Legal experts have suggested that three months from now is the earliest the divorce can come through.

This is actually quite fast for a South Korean divorce, and enabled in large part by the short duration of their marriage (under two years), the lack of children, the general absence of clear shared assets, and the apparent unwillingness of Song Hye-kyo to contest the divorce. Indeed, while Song Joong-ki's attorneys technically made the initial filing, by all accounts the decision to divorce was made in mutual agreement by both parties.

Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo themselves also appear to be doing fine in separation, having already come to accept their separate lives. The contrast between recent stories of their being happily out and about are a stark contrast to recent rumors about Song Joong-ki's deteriorating scalp and Song Hye-kyo's sudden alarming weight loss earlier this year.
