[HanCinema's News] "The 8th Night" Confirmed for Worldwide Release Via Netflix

Netflix recently confirmed that the upcoming supernatural themed mystery thriller "The 8th Night" would be coming to the streaming platform this upcoming July 2nd. As is common for Netflix releases, the distribution with the streaming giant covers all regions with a Netflix presence, meaning the film will be available in English that same day. The demonic storyline deals with eight days in which the main characters attempt to prevent the reawakening of a sinister otherworldly presence.

The news follows official comments last week stating that nothing had been decided yet in regards to Netflix rumors. However, those rumors specifically stated that a July release window was being considered for the movie, suggesting that the source of those rumors, whatever it was, may have been accurate. It's also possible that a relevant party had leaked news of ongoing negotiations to establish interest in an international streaming release.

With the publication of the deal, more concrete details of the film are also coming into place. It is now known that Park Hae-joon will play the role of a detective investigating seven deaths associated with a mysterious bridge leading to another world, and that Kim You-jung is playing the role of a girl tasked with protecting the secret of this bridge. Lee Sung-min, who has the lead role, was already known to be a figure with the power necessary to stop the evil in question.
