[HanCinema's News] "Limit" Hopes to Be Next Big South Korean Thriller

Director Lee Seung-joon-I has waited a long time for his chance to make another movie. The veteran South Korean film professional had his debut as as a credited director with the action comedy film "The Spy" back in 2013, a decent success at the time with 3.43 million box office admissions. Now with "Limit" he's trying to make a comeback in a very different genre- a thriller akin to "HARD HIT" and "On the Line" which both saw decent interest in 2021.

"Limit" stars Lee Jung-hyun in the leading role as a policewoman drawn into a kidnapping case. As was the case with "HARD HIT" and "On the Line" both there is a heavy telephone element to the story as she receives sinister communications leading her on the path to an unknown culprit. But this project will have more of a maternal touch, as the lead will deal with her own child being under threat from a serial killer that targets juveniles. "Limit" will open in South Korean theaters on August 17th.
