The actress debuted in 2003 through singer Lee Seung-hwan's music video. Park Shin-hye said, "I don't want to be remembered as the pretty actress on TV. I didn't want to be known as just the Hallyu drama actress either so I chose to star in movies".

Park Shin-hye first appeared in her first 2005 movie "Beauty Inside". "I had just made up my mind to star in movies when director Jeong Ji-woo contacted me for "Heart Blackened"". In the film, she took on the role of a hardworking lawyer named Choi Hee-jeong.

Park Shin-hye noticed the differences in her appearance on camera: "I look different on camera. You can even see my eye bags". "We aimed for a face without much make up but I look so worn out on the camera".

Then, she spoke about marriage. "I wonder if I can live with just one person my whole life after hearing from so many people that married life is tough". "I want to focus more on work now and think about marriage later".

Director Jeong Ji-woo's "Heart Blackened" stars Park Shin-hye, Choi Min-sik, Ryu Jun-yeol and Lee Hanee.
