Hong Eun-hee Favorite Actress of Middle-Aged Women

Actress Hong Eun-hee, who plays the lead character "Young-sil" in the KBS TV1 morning series "Windflower", has resumed her busy acting career after a long hiatus. She says she feels happier than ever because she has achieved the two biggest goals of her life -- creating a happy family and becoming a famous actress.

She likes to show everyone the picture of her son Dong-woo that she is using as her cell phone screen. Dong-woo recently had his first birthday, and Hong says people typically ask her if she is married when they see the picture. Hong has made scarce appearances in television dramas after getting married in her early 20s and giving birth to her son, but she says she is happy to have a family.

"I have a happy family of four -- my husband, my son, my mother-in-law, and myself. You can only see such a family in dramas. My husband, who is quite serious with other people, changes into the funniest man in the world when he comes home. My mother-in-law always treats me like her own daughter. And my son is growing healthily although I don't get to spend much time with him because of my busy acting schedule. My family would be the perfect subject for a drama about a happy family", says Hong.

When Hong got married in 2003 at the relatively young age of 23 to actor Yoo Jun-sang, who is 11 years her senior, everybody around her urged her to think twice. But against all odds, Hong has appeared on television even more often since she tied the knot. She has starred in only a handful of dramas, but has now appeared in more TV commercials than before her marriage.

Hong says "Windflower" has presented her with a good opportunity to get rid of her label of "Yoo Jun-sang's wife".

"My husband and my mother-in-law are big fans of 'Windflower.' When I come home after shooting an episode, they ask me what it was about and offer their suggestions on how they would like the story to unfold further". Hong says she is the biggest star at home because even her mother-in-law's friends enjoy "Windflower" so much.
