Hong Sang-soo's Latest Film Invited to New York, Toronto Film Fests

Hong Sang-soo's "The Day After - 2017" has been invited to both the Toronto International Film Festival and the New York Film Festival in September.

The film's distributor said two of Hong's films, "The Day After - 2017" and "On the Beach at Night Alone" have both been invited to the Main Slate lineup at the New York Film Festival, which runs from Sept. 28 to Oct. 15.

It features some 25 movies that received the spotlight at various film festivals around the world each year.

The Master's section in Toronto, one of the four major film festivals in the world, introduces new films by the most influential art film directors in the world. It will be held from Sept. 7 to 17.

"The Day After - 2017" has been popular on the festival circuit, starting with the official competition at Cannes. It has been invited to 25 film festivals so far, and is scheduled to be screened at the Hong Kong Summer International Film Festival, Santiago International Film Festival, and Vladivostok International Film Festival.
