[Hot Takes from the Noonas] Jung Yu-mi considering lead role in Noh Hee-kyeong's latest drama, "Live"

Writer Noh Hee-kyeong is set to come back with "Live" a new drama slated to broadcast in early 2018, with an offer out to Jung Yu-mi to star.

There aren't a lot of details about "Live", but the announcement described it as a police drama, exploring their role in society as civil servants and keepers of the peace. Noh Hee-kyeong has an interesting track record as a writer ("Dear My Friends", "It's Okay, That's Love", "That Winter, the Wind Blows"), so it's likely that we're not going to get a typical cop drama. At the very last, we can probably expect complex relationships, layered characters, and a humanistic view of the police and their lives. Kim Kyu-tae, who directed four of her last five dramas, is set to direct.

As for Jung Yu-mi's prospective role, all we know so far is that if she accepts, she'll play a police officer. I haven't seen her in anything since her turn in hit zombie movie, "Train to Busan", so I'm looking forward to her return to the small screen, especially in what promises to be a female lead role with some substance.

"Live" hasn't nailed down a broadcaster or air date yet, but in the meantime, I'm looking forward to seeing what Noh Hee-kyeong can do with a cop drama.

Love,
