Cable network tvN has released new still cuts of Kim Kang-woo as a detective in 2037 for "Circle".

I'm not sure if it's a good sign or a bad sign that the premise for "Circle" can't be explained so easily. There's murders, the arrival of aliens, a future world split into two and parallel timelines. The first timeline is set in 2017, and centres around Kim Woo-jin (Yeo Jin-goo), a college student who discovers his brother's connection to a series of deaths. He's thrown together with Jeong-yeon (Gong Seung-yeon), who is herself trying to find out what happened to her best friend.

Featured in the new still cuts is the second timeline, where the world has split into Smart Earth, which is free of disease, fear and crime, and Average Earth, where those things run rampant. Kim Kang-woo plays Kim Joon-hyeok, a veteran police detective from Average Earth who tries to break into Smart Earth in order to solve a crime.

Netizens seem pretty excited at the prospect of Kim Kang-woo playing a sharp-eyed detective, and I can't say I blame them; if this ambitious drama fails, it definitely won't be due to bad casting. Lucky for us, the teasers look amazing so far.

"Circle" will air on tvN on Mondays and Tuesdays, starting May 22nd.

Love,
