[Hot Takes from the Noonas] Yoon Si-yoon goes old school in first teaser for "The Best Hit"

2017/05/22 | 3274 views | Permalink

The first teaser for variety drama, "The Best Hit" features Yoon Si-yoon rocking the 90s idol style, and hijinks galore.

I'm not even sure what a variety idol drama is, but the first teaser for "The Best Hit" looks like it may be worth a try regardless. "The Best Hit" features Yoon Si-yoon as Yoo Hyeon-jae, an idol whose track record has as many scandals as it does hits. I'm not sure what the reason behind the old-school styling is, but I love it. Did he travel in time? Is he just stuck in a rut? Either way, I can't stop laughing at Yoon Si-yoon in a bandanna, emoting like he's in a cheesy music video while getting caught up in one disaster after another.

Meanwhile, Kim Min-jae-I plays Lee Ji-hoon, an ordinary kid who secretly dreams of becoming an idol, and Cha Tae-hyun (doing double duty as director) and Yoon Son-ha as his parents. Or are they? Whatever the story is behind everyone's relationships here, I think I'm going to need a diagram and a time machine to get it. Or, I could just sit back and enjoy the ride.

"The Best Hit" is set to air starting June 2, 2017 on Fridays and Saturdays on KBS.

Love,
