Hotel Shilla's Korean Restaurant Makes World Top 200

Hotel Shilla's Korean restaurant La Yeon in Seoul ranks 175th with a score of 92 on La Liste, a list of the 1,000 best restaurants in the world sponsored by the French Foreign Ministry and tourism board.

It became the first Korean restaurant to make the top 200.

The list was launched in 2015. Restaurants are rated based on "hundreds of guidebooks and millions of online reviews" and "handpicked by discerning food critics and expert guides", according to the official website.

The hotel's Japanese restaurant Ariake and French restaurant Continental also made the list with 80.25 points and 80 points.

"The restaurant received a good rating because it uses seasonal ingredients and offers dishes made from traditional recipes with a modern twist", the hotel said.
