Into the Animation World

Movie festival where visitors can experience the North American and European animations is coming to Korea.

Animpact announced on April 17 that it is holding 'World's Top 10 Animation Festival' from April 23 to 27 in Myungdong Central Cinema.

There will be some 50 animations that will be introduced in this festival. This is the first time that Koreans can experience the award winning animations from Europe, including winners of Czech's 'International Festival of Animated Films', UK's 'Bradford International Animation Festival', Germany's 'Internationales Trickfilm Festival Festival of Animated Film Stuttgart' and Portugal's 'International Animation Festival'.

This festival is expected to show various methods to create characters in United Statesand show refreshing ways to develop animation in Europe.

Phil Mulloy, who has unmatched satire and wit, has his new animation for the audience. This animation shows sex play between the opposite sex openly, but to an extent that it's not disapproved by the audience. This animation received award in Festival of Animated Film Stuttgart.

Also, Don Penn's , which is a story about a funny character 'Conehead' being chased by an ice-cream van, is noticeable among many, with its unique character development with European style.

Other noticeable animations include Chris Shepperd's and Joseph Pelltuce's . is about a father and son who gradually becomes paranoid because of a neighbor who keeps knocking on the door. uses 3D techniques and real picture together throughout the animation.

The spokesman for the sponsor stated that "this is an opportunity to introduce various established animations to Korea, where not many animations are known due to the shadow of world's biggest 4 film awards" and added that "it'll be a great opportunity to look at the latest trend in a glance by looking at European and North American animations, which have been well more developed over the years".
