Jo Hye-ryun Planning Debut in US Before 50

Comedienne Jo Hye-ryun is aiming to work her way to the U.S. after she successfully made her debut in Japan.
In a press conference for the cable channel Story On's new reality show "Super Mom" on Monday, the 39-year-old entertainer said, "I want to work in the U.S. before I reach 50. My goal for now is to appear on the Oprah Winfrey show in 2016, the year of the show's 30th anniversary".
"I've been working in Japan for more than three years now, and that experience has made me think about working in the U.S. as well", she added. "Just like when I first decided to go to Japan, there is no one who wants me in the U.S. either. But I want to build my future myself and am working toward it".
Jo decided to enter Japanese show business when she visited the country with her family in 2005, and devoted herself to learning Japanese. In 2006, she made her Japanese debut on the TBS show "Quiz! Nihongo-Ou" and later appeared on TBS's "Sunday Japan" and Fuji TV's "Mecha Mecha Iketeru". She is currently co-hosting the NHK program "Nihontsu List" and has recently published a Japanese study book.
"I think having expertise on mastering Japanese will be helpful in learning English", Jo said. "Yet I am seeking ways to master English faster and better, and thankfully I have gotten to know (English tutor) Park Hyun-young through 'Super Mom', who is giving me lots of advice".
Musical star Choi Jeong-won-I and actress Lee Sang-ah will also star along with Jo and Park. Dealing with the life of working moms, "Super Mom" begins on Thursday.
