JTBC in Stagnant Mode, Will It Bounce Back up?

The dramas aired by JTBC last year remained bitter, struggling with ratings. In particular, "Sisyphus: The Myth" which was ambitiously presented as a special plan for JTBC's 10th anniversary, failed to make it a hit due to poor CG and unfriendly development despite the actors' favorable performances.
"Reflection of You" which drew attention due to Ko Hyun-jung's return and the meeting of popular actor Shin Hyun-bin, also showed somewhat disappointing performance in ratings despite the outstanding directing and actors' brilliant acting. The same is true for "Lost" starring Jeon Do-yeon, who returned to drama after five years and Lee Young-ae's "Inspector Koo" who returned after four years.
These works drew favorable reviews as 'well-made' dramas in terms of completeness, but ratings didn't do as well. Dramas such as "Nevertheless", "Live On", "IDOL: The Coup" and "The One and Only" received 0% viewer ratings.
As if conscious of this situation, JTBC is expressing a strong will to capture both popularity and workability this year. Son Ye-jin and Jeon Mi-do star in "Thirty Nine" as the first Wednesday-Thursday drama in 2022.
The workplace romance drama "Forecasting Love and Weather", in which Song Kang and Park Min-young are starring in, is expected by viewers. Kang Ha-neul, who shows perfect character digestion in each work, returns to the action suspense "Insider", while Lee Yo-won and Choo Ja-hyun present "Green Mothers' Club" which depicts a dangerous network of local parents.
In addition, Yum Jung-ah and Jeon So-min are also drawing attention as JTBC's relief pitchers, "Cleaning Up", which depicts the desire of the three stock market service cleaners who entered the stock war and "The Youngest Son of a Chaebol Family", starring Song Joong-ki, Lee Sung-min and Shin Hyun-bin are some of the most anticipated works of the year.
Viewers are looking forward to seeing if JTBC, which showed a large number of high-quality works last year, will be able to capture the public's hearts with works that go beyond perfection to popularity.
