In June of 2016, he appeared in "I Live Alone" and said, "I want to go on a beer date with my girlfriend if I have one. Guys! Make girlfriends so I can take them away!" The 'guys' he's referring to are singers Roy Kim, Eddie Kim, and Kwon Hyeok-joon. Kwon Hyeok-joon is "Girl's Generation" member Kwon Yuri's brother, who is also being investigated regarding the Jung Joon-young controversy.

Singer ZICO talked about Jung Joon-young's private life on the MBC TV show "Radio Star" in February of the same year. He said, "When we go to movie premieres and see actresses, Jung Joon-young says they're his. Just a while ago, we were talking about someone in a drama and he had her in his phone book".

He even mentioned the 'golden phone'. ZICO said, "There are many people on his phone like Pokemon". Jung Joon-young added, "He looks for my phone first when he comes to my house. He looks at it like it's his own". Jung Joon-young had also said, "I want true love. I want to be in a relationship".

Meanwhile, according to reports on the 12th, Jung Joon-young posted secretly taken sex videos of himself in a group chat involving celebrities and talked about rape. In the chat, Jung Joon-young had said, "Let's meet someone online, take her to a strip bar, and rape her in the car". Then someone else in the chat group said, "You do that in real life anyway. This is like a movie, we have done everything but murder to get ourselves in prison".

Jung Joon-young laughed and replied, "You totally raped her" to a video someone posted of himself having sex with an unconscious woman.
