KBC provides financial support to digital conversion and production

The Korean Broadcasting Commission (KBC, Chair: Lee, Sang-Hee) announced on Aug. 21 that it will provide financial support worth 8.8 billion Korean won to digital broadcasting conversion and program production and is calling for project proposals until Sept. 14.
Categories for the digital broadcasting conversion support projects are local terrestrial broadcasting companies (digital production * editing facilities, transmission and relay facilities, etc.), comprehensive cable broadcasting companies (digital broadcasting conversion facilities except those for the establishment of transmission networks), and broadcasting channel program providers (digital production, editing, and transmission facilities).
KBC plans to support broadcasting channel program providers of original programs, as well as independent production companies engaged in the production of dramas, news and cultural programs, entertainment, and animation programs.
After the screening of the submitted proposals, KBC will announce the winning bidders in September.
