2015/07/17 Source

Asia's leading content and media company CJ E&M says that KCON 2015 USA will be an attractive site for K-beauty lovers, as the event is endorsed and joined by a large group of people from the beauty industry, ranging from small startups and individual YouTubers to cosmetics company sponsors.

"We are confident that KCON 2015 USA will be a good business opportunity for Korean beauty companies trying to find ways to expand their business overseas. Also, it will be a big K-beauty extravaganza for the visitors who want to catch the latest trends in K-Beauty", says Hyun-Soo Kim, head of Global Festival Business at CJ E&M, who is in charge of organizing KCON 2015 USA.

At KCON 2015 LA, scheduled to open for three days from July 31st, visitors will get to see more than a dozen of beauty product makers, who will showcase such items as facial masks, natural soaps, eco-friendly shampoos and wireless curling iron at their promotional booths to be set up inside the Los Angeles Convention Center.

IOPE, a cosmetics brand owned by Korean beauty giant AMORE PACIFIC will join as official sponsor of KCON 2015 USA. The brand's cushion compact is already creating buzz in North America.

"Our cushion compact, 'Air Cushion' is currently leading the global K-beauty trend, and we believe that KCON will be a great chance to highlight this trend. We plan to set up a few make-up sessions for visitors to the convention", said Jin-Ho Kim, head of marketing department at IOPE.

KCON 2015 LA is also offering a variety of K-Beauty programs to engage the young American consumers who are big fans of K-beauty.

'Get It Beauty', Korea's most popular beauty TV program on OnStyle channel will provide useful makeup classes to KCON participants.

In particular, a number of K-beauty experts and founders of popular Korean beauty online retailers in America including Charlotte Cho from Sokoglam(www.sokoglam.com), Christine Chang and Sarah Lee from Glow Recipe (www.glowrecipe.com) will host K-beauty sessions to give useful beauty tips to KCON participants.

As K-beauty is a hot topic for many online/digital content creators, KCON organizers have decided to invite a number of popular YouTubers to run on-site beauty sessions at the convention.

Ssinnm (www.youtube.com/user/Hines382), a popular Korean makeup artist, known for her work with K-Pop stars, is joining KCON 2015 LA to meet her American fans and to share her makeup tips with them. Beautifymeeh (www.youtube.com/user/beautifymeeh), one of the most influential K-beauty broadcasting jockeys also plans to hold her own demonstration session. Their collaborative work can be seen at IOPE boot.

KCON USA, the largest fan convention in North America, which is dedicated to all aspects of Korean entertainment, will take place at Staples Center from July 31st through August 2nd. After one week, on August 8th, KCON will open in the East Coast for the first time, welcoming K-pop fans at Prudential Center in downtown Newark, NJ.
