Kim Hee-sun Claims Place Among Screen Goddesses

Actress Kim Hee-sun is taking fans on a trip into the glamorous days of 1950s Europe, when Audrey Hepburn was but one of a glittering army of Hollywood stars peopling its boulevards for the fun and cheap production facilities to be had there.

Titled "Marvelously Kim Hee Seon" and released on Friday, the book had been in planning since September last year. In May, Kim posed for the gorgeous portraits for top photographer Paulo Roversi in nostalgic Paris locations like Montmartre, Pont Alexandre III and the Pont de Bir Hakeim.

Posed in a range of styles from femme fatale to ice queen, with more than a little of such Hepburn vehicles as "Roman Spring" and "Charade" thrown in for good measure, Kim is helped in her effort to claim her place among the great beauties of the silver screen by Roversi, the brilliant makeup artist Stephane Marais and hair stylist Julien d'Ys.

The trio have previously worked together making stars like Isabelle Adjani and Madonna look their breathtaking best, but this is the first time they have brought their combined brilliance to bear on an Asian actress. Roversi reportedly showered Kim with praise, saying her face is capable of projecting the whole range of styles from girl-next-door to diva.
