Kim Ho-jung shaves her head for "Revivre"

Actress Kim Ho-jung plays a dying wife in Im Kwon-taek's 102nd movie "Revivre". It wasn't an easy challenge for her.

Kim Ho-jung said, "I am a cancer patient so it was tough from the beginning but now that it's all over, I don't think it was so bad". She analyzed her character way before the making started and even shaved her head to resemble a cancer patient. In fact, she's already experienced the pain of going through cancer so she made it seem more real.

"Revivre" was introduced to the Busan International Film Festival and other festivals and got great reviews. Lee Yong-gwan, the president of the BIFF said, "I have seen her whole". Stockholm IFF said, "Kim Ho-jung's heart-breaking performance and director Im's 102nd movie is ruminating people". Hollywood Reporter claimed, "She expresses the helplessness of a dying person, anger and self contempt all at the same time".

Kim Ho-jung's acting comes from a well experienced career of various movies and theater. She won Best Actress at the Locarno Awards for the 2001 movie "Butterfly". She is currently starring in the SBS miniseries "Heard It Through the Grapevines".

"Revivre" has been invited to various award shows around the world. It's already been to the 65th Berlin IFF and is planning to head over to Hong Kong for the 39th Hong Kong IFF. The movie is being released in Korea on the 9th of April.
