Kim Hye-soo to Forfeit MA Due to Plagiarism

Actress Kim Hye-soo has she is ready to forfeit her master's degree following a plagiarism scandal.

At a press event for her latest TV soap in Seoul on Monday she once again apologized for plagiarizing a substantial part of her master's thesis at Sungkyunkwan University in 2001.

"I belatedly realized I made a mistake and told my professor to follow the procedure to revoke it", she claimed.

She admitted that it would be appropriate for her to jettison the lead in the TV show, but since the soap starts airing in just a week, her departure would cause significant damage to the production.

"I'll do my best as an actress to recover the trust of the public", she said.

The Chosun Ilbo broke the story on Saturday.
