Kim Jae-won to promote Korean alphabet in Japan

Actor Kim Jae-won will hold a Korean-alphabet parade at the Mitsuji Festival, the largest street festival to be held in Osaka, Japan on Oct. 9, which is celebrated in Korea as Hangeul (Korean Alphabet) Day.

Kim was invited to the world-famous festival, which boasts a 23-year tradition, to hold an open-car parade as a representative of Korean entertainers.

As the festival will take place on Hangeul Day, Kim will stage a show promoting the Korean alphabet. "He was honored to receive an invitation to such a significant event as a leading hallyu star. The event will be even more meaningful because he will have the opportunity to let the entire world know about the Korean alphabet", said a person from Kim's agency.

The parade will cover 3.3 kilometers, starting from the Osaka City Hall. Some 1.2 million visitors are expected to attend the festival.
