Kim Jeong-hoon, Sean Participate in Fund-Raising for Japan

Singers Kim Jeong-hoon, Sean, and Narsha from Brown Eyed Girls participated in the Salvation Army's collection to raise funds for the post-earthquake recovery in Japan. They came to Gwanghwamun where the Salvation Army's collection was placed and donated some amount of money, and they encouraged people to participate in donations by ringing a bell beside the charity pot.

They took pictures with people who participated in the donation and provided a "free hug". Kim Jeong-hoon, who had experienced the earthquake in Japan when he was preparing a fan meeting in Saitama near Tokyo on March 11, said, "I felt the strong quake that was strong enough to make me lose my balance, even though I was far from the Northeast area where the earthquake struck. I had to postpone my fan meeting in Japan for an indefinite period and come back to Korea. As I can see the damage in Japan is getting worse including radioactive contamination, I came here today to help the fund-raising activity. I have many friends and fans in Japan and I heard that they cannot even buy their daily necessities at the convenient store, so I have been very worried about them. I really appreciate many fans participating in today's collection".

Singer Sean, who had come to donation event before Kim Jeong-hoon, posted encouraging messages on his Twitter account to draw people's participation, saying, "Now I am participating in the Salvation Army's collection. People who live near here, please come here and participate in the donation. I will give you a 'free hug'. Everybody, please come here as fast as you can, I will be here waiting for you". Narsha, who has been holding activities in Japan with the group Brown Eyed Girls, said, "I have received great love in Japan. After I saw the huge damage in Japan through TV, I wanted to find a way to help them. So it is very meaningful that I can participate in this Salvation Army's collection. I hope people in Japan can overcome this difficult situation quickly".
