Kim Ji-soo Wins Best Actress Award at Singapore Film Festival

Actress Kim Ji-soo has received the best actress award for her first big-screen role in the movie "This Charming Girl" at the 18th Singapore International Film Festival that kicked off April 14. The movie's director, Lee Yoon-ki, won the best director award at the festival.

Lee, who is currently residing in Singapore to participate in the festival, disclosed in his interview with Star News on April 28 that the movie had won the best actress and best director awards at the festival. "I am very happy for Kim Ji-soo", said Lee, who seemed to be happier for Kim's award than for his own.

Upon hearing the news about her award, Kim, who couldn't accompany Lee because of her busy schedule, said she hadn't expected to win the award even in her dreams and was more than honored to receive it. She said she was just happy the movie made it to various international festivals. "I think that's a sign that I must do even better in my following works, which I am strongly determined to do in the future", said Kim.

"This Charming Girl" also won the New Currents Award at the Pusan International Film Festival last year, the NETPAC Award at the Berlin International Festival, and the jury's award at the Deauville Asian Film Festival in France.
